autofocus
autofocus is a WordPress theme specifically for photographers looking for a simple and elegant way to display their work online.
Features
- Images are automatically placed into posts. No need to use Custom Fields.
- Psuedo-Image protection. All of the images are protected from download with an invisible layer of HTML that prevents users from Right Clicking and Saving the image directly. Similar to how flickr does it.
Usage
Settings
Before uploading new images, go to SETTINGS > MEDIA page. Set the LARGE Max Width to 800 and the Max Height to 600.
Posting
Simply create a post and use the WordPress image uploader to attach any high resolution(I recommend images higher than 800px) image(s) to your post. Write the content for your posts, just like any regular blog post. Hit PUBLISH and you’re done! The attached images are placed into the photo area automatically which means no custom fields required! AutoFocus, pulls the last uploaded image for every post, so if you upload 3 images ie: 1.jpg, 2.jpg, 3.jpg, then 3.jpg will be used as the main image on the home and single pages.
As an alternative, you may also use the “From URL” option on the WordPress Media Uploader to link to images hosted elsewhere (flickr, photobucket, etc.) When you post images this way, AutoFocus will automatically generate the custom fields required for the posts to display properly.
You can place images in your post’s content and you can use the gallery shortcode in posts without any issues.

And lastly, you must add a thumbnail for the video (the default image that shows up on the video player.)

Click Settings -> Media. Set your thumbnails to 200×150. Set your medium photo size to 495×0. Set your large size to 950×0. Set your external video embed width to 495. Leave the height blank. This applied for your YouTube or Vimeo links.
If you are migrating from an old theme to a new theme and your thumbnails look squished or distorted, you might need to re-upload the image you plan on using for the post thumbnail. This is because WordPress creates your image sizes based on the dimensions you specified above. Old thumbnails will not be automatically resized.
By default, thumbnails are auto cropped by WordPress. This theme checks first to see if you have added the URL to your prefered thumbnail to custom field called, you guessed it, thumbnail. If not, the theme will defer to the first photo that you uploaded using Add Photo icon. If you haven’t uploaded a photo using the Add Photo icon, the theme will can the post body for an image, and use it. If no photo exists in the post body, the theme will use a default image. As you can see, this series of “checks” allow you to have 100% control over your post thumnbnails.
